clearblue easy fertility monitor
so DH and I are going back to the basics and trying on our own until next year where we will more then likely start our first IVF cycle.
I have used CBE digital OPKs and have gotten smileys the past few months although the cycle was a ruined with AF showing right on time. This month I have tested nearly everyday since CD10 and checked CM and still no smiley. I also have PCOS so I am aware that these tests may not even be accurate even if I get a smiley.
Is it silly to even consider the clearblue easy fertility monitor? It's expensive, but I feel like I'll use anything that will give me hope of even having a 2WW!!!
TIA!!

Re: clearblue easy fertility monitor
do you have high LH with PCOS? if you do i wouldnt bother with the monitor or OPKs as the results will be inaccurate due to high LH. if you dont have high LH as a symptom they MIGHT work. if you are getting smileys on OPKs and AF as expected chances are that you are ovulating regularly which is great with PCOS. i dont think theres a benefit to the CBEFM if OPKs work for you. you should def be temping though to confirm that you are actually Oing and that the tests arent inaccurate due to PCOS.

The only thing the CBEFM did for me was to help me feel like I had some control over my situation each month. It is expensive, but if you don't mind the cost then I don't see why not. For a while I was even doing both the CBEFM and the digital OPK's . But like I said - control freak over here .

Thanks for responding!
I am not sure if I have a high LH or not, I was never told anything other then I have PCOS. I guess I could call my RE and ask? This RE never recommended testing on OPKs or temping during any of my cycles we've had together. Just started with CD3 testing and went from there. Is that weird that they never recommended to do any of this? I've only heard of temping from lurking on the boards and reading "What to Expect BEFORE You're Expecting".
I've been testing with OPKs on my own since we are basically at a stand still with my insurance coverage. I feel at such a loss because I have been doing this for what what feels like forever and still am technically new to the game when it comes to certain things. It's frustrating.

That's exactly what I would like, control! I feel useless waiting until January to proceed with IVF.
When I asked my RE what I could do in the meantime, he only suggested sending DH to a urologist.
