jalapeno's
so i was cutting jalapeno's up last night to make chili. well i woke up with a burning on my hand that felt like i put it in a fire. its killing me. anyone ever have this? if so what did u do to take the pain away??

try a half of lemon and salt and use it as a "scrub".

in the future... my mom always uses surgical gloves when she is cutting them up. I always forget to do that! Last week I touch my eyes after and could not wear my contacts for days... i feel your pain!

I had that once. It was horrible. Don't use water to keep it cool, it spreads the burn. I used a mask of milk and baking soda and let that dry for 15-20 minutes. I did that a few times. It worked. Now I always wear gloves when I cut hot peppers.

aw - I hope your feeling better! Always be sure to wear gloves when cooking with jalepenos. my mom did the same thing as you over the weekend even after I warned her!

thanks girls!!! its getting betteer but its still there. taking lots of advil. it was my first time handeling them last night, and i will never again, even with gloves!!
