Spinoff to the Spinoff on Bedding

For those of you who plan to have more than 1 (if you're buying bedding for your first) did you consider that you won't be able to use the bedding again for the next child (if they're a different sex than the first)? I'm afraid if I get bedding that is too gender-specific I'll have to go out and buy new bedding if we have another (and he/she is a different sex). Or, does baby bedding get so worn you would normally buy a new set anyway? Just curious what everyone thought.

I don't plan on having anymore, so that is why we picked gender specific. However....my best friend picked a neutral set (very $$$, but her MIL paid for it) and she said she will use it for the next baby also.

Re: Spinoff to the Spinoff on Bedding

As much as I say I would use the same bedding for a second child, I know Iwould end up getting them their own bedding.

I'm having the same issue. Do I use the same as my first for my second (its not gender specific).?Although I don't want to spend the $, I think in the end I'll buy a new set.

Re: Spinoff to the Spinoff on Bedding

We didn't find out the sex when we had Jack so I got a yellow/green set from Pottery Barn and did his room with the Guess How Much I love you theme. I still love his bedding, but this time we found out we are having a girl and how could I not go out and start shopping!Chat Icon I could have absoluetely reused his bedding and added pink into the yellow and green theme, but I couldn't resist...I had to go all out girlie!

Re: Spinoff to the Spinoff on Bedding

Since our crib converts to a toddler bed, we will probably keep the set for the child to use as a toddler. Ours is also expensive, but I'm assuming they will use it for 3 yrs or so.

I don't think you would use the same set twice regardless of whether it's a boy or girl. My sister said they take quite a beating- between spilling milk, spit up, leaking diapers, etc... She said you wash them pretty frequently and eventually they start to show their wear.

I bought gender specific bedding - I would plan on buying another set for our 2nd, regardless of sex...I think it will have to be washed often and will show wear.

Re: Spinoff to the Spinoff on Bedding

I haven;t decided what to do. I picked out bedding for my son - but it ended up being gender neutral. I think if there is a new baby, DS will like that he gets the newly decorated room - and its one less thing for me to do!
