Possible ectopic
Dr b called before, he did my beta today to make sure it was going down, it was a chemical. Well now it went higher than it ever was and ge said I probably need a d&c and/or could be ectopic! This is crazy! Anyone have any experiences with this? I have to go in tmrw morning but he doesn't think he will see anything on the sono since it's early but he is sending me to dr pitteleri (sp?). Anyone know him? He said he will do d&c and check tubes etc

 I went to Dr.Pilliterri when I was released from Dr.B the first time I got pregnant.
Unfortunately I only met him once (I had my first appt there with him and then my next appts with his sister, the physicians asst.)
He seems very competent but I don't know all that much about him. He gets RAVES on the pregnancy board though! Do a board search!
ETA: He did not perform my D&E so I have no experience there with him. I needed to go to a specialist for that since it's more complicated than the D&C.

i have a possible ectopic right now...
but my numbers are so low that they cant find anything anywhere... its like phantom friggin pregnancy... i will find out tomorrow for sure **HOPEFULLY** whats actually going on..
i do not have info about the dr... but good luck...

im so sorry. if your numbers went up is he sure that the last beta wasnt a fluke??? i mean im not trying to instill false hope but labs can be wrong sometimes right? what was todays beta??

Dr b says this is not a viable pg. My betas were
10/14- 95
10/18- 251
10/19- 335
10/21- 274
10/25- something in 500's can't remember!
I guess we will see what he sees tmrw. I gave no hope for this pg though, my levels were never doubling

i just had an ectopic in june. my betas were much like yours--they would rise, then fall, then rise, etc. i also had a ton of bleeding so unfortunately my doctor at the time said i was having a m/c and didn't follow me closely. in the middle of it all, i switched doctors and the new doctor discovered the ectopic. please push all the doctors to watch you closely for ectopic if it is even a remote possibility. i ended up needing emergency surgery, losing my right tube and possibly could've died if it had gone unnoticed any longer. i don't want to scare you, i hope none of this is the case for you. i just like to share my story so that other women here trust their instincts and push their doctors to give answers. if you need anything please feel free to ask! lot of prayers for you. i'm sooooo sorry you have to go through this

My dr is the one telling me he has to monitor me closey to make sure if it is ectopic it gets taken care of. He said chemical as long as my beta continued to go down but obviously they didn't  he says I'll need a d&c and/or tubal surgery

i'm so glad your dr is keeping an eye on you and sorry again you have to go through this. i've also had a d&c (different pregnancy last year) so please FM if you have any questions about either of the procedures. so sorry this is happening

had one of these back in 2006-we didnt know and my tube ruptured and I almost bled to death-lucky they caught it...all the HPT said negative..

Dr. Pilliteri did my D&C when there was no HB @ 7 weeks. He's a very nice doctor and will make you feel very much at ease.

I had an ectopic in September 09 after my first iui. The dead giveaway was when my beta went up after going down. The doctor monitored me closely to see if the pregnancy would clear on its own since it was caught very early. It didn't and they gave me a shot of methotrexate. That worked for me and I didn't need a D&C.
I'm sorry you're going through this. It truly sucks.

Thanks for all of your advice and kind words. I've been admitted to good sam. My beta is still going up but they can't see anything on the sono anywhere. Dr pillitteri wanted me to stay so he can keep a close eye on me. Tomorrow he will be doing another beta and sono. He says after that he is going to do a d&c and laparotomy to explore the tubes. If he finds anything in the tubes he will take care if that as well. I appreciate having you guys here to talk to so much!

i was looking for your update it's so good that you doctor is keeping such a close eye on you and terrible that you have to go through this. you will be in my prayers tomorrow if you have any questions about the surgery, i'd be happy to answer. lots and lots of prayers and hugs for you
