Re: BF and pacifiers...
DD LOVES her pacifier (as you can tell from the pics I posted) and I am EBF. I pump out bottles for DH to feed her and she does not have nipple confusion. My LC told me that very few babies get nipple confusion while I was preggo I swore that I would "NEVER use a pacifier", yet here I am using one. My DD loves it and it is so comforting to her. I decided to use one when we were in the hospital and she nursed for over 40 minutes when all I had was colustrum. The pediatrican said if I ended up being her pacifier I would have sore nipples and possibly end up with masitsis. Also, my pediatrican told me that the pacifier is better than the thumb because you can take the pacifier away, the thumb habit is a lot harder to break. Try the pacifier, trust me your DD will be fine.

Re: BF and pacifiers...
DS was never confused with any nipple He takes to it all. He loves his pacifier and I am glad he does. It has helped him with acid reflux and deters SIDS.

Re: BF and pacifiers...
I EBF both of my kids..it depends on the kid... my son never needed the pacifier, but my daughter def. needed it... she started using one at about 3 or 4 weeks and we didn't have a problem with nipple confusion.
