Frustrated...
I was advised to get a HSG Sono, to make sure there are no blockages and all is well with the ovaries. Dr. B does not believe there is b/c I menstruate on a cycle with no problems. I called today to make an appt. and they only do it first thing in the morning, during the week, which means I would have to take off from work....and I cannot do that right now. I am a teacher and its just too much to take off. So now I am stuck as what to do!?!?!?!?!? Has anyone else has this problem????

Re: Frustrated...
Hmm I haven't had an HSG but could you possibly go to school afterward? I'm not sure what the comfort level is like afterward.. otherwise maybe that could be a possibility.

Re: Frustrated...
I guess I could be late...but thats not the best case either...blah just have to figure something out. The woman said I would have bad cramps after? I wonder if I should just wait until I am off, and then go from there......

Re: Frustrated...
Are you sure you couldn't just take off one day since it's important? I'm trying to think of when teachers have off next Actually, wait....... coming up in November schools are closed for Veterans day! Maybe that's an option!

Re: Frustrated...
I had to schedule my HSG with the hopsital on a Sat because the hours at my RE's office did not work for me. I am not sure how comfortable you feel about this option.

Re: Frustrated...
The HSG needs to be done within the first 7 or 10 days of your cycle and you can't BD from the time AF arrives until after the procedure. Everyone's experience is different, but I had some severe cramping during the procedure, but was absolutely fine afterwards.
As far as the work issue, can you try another radiology place to see if they have a more convenient appointment for you? If not, can you be late to work? Honestly, working with an RE you will have many times where you're going to be late to work. Unfortunately it's just part of the process. Good luck!

Radiology offices will probably be open on Veteran's Day. I had my appointment on President's Day...luckily my office was closed, but the radiology office wasn't!
Btw, I highly recommend Zilkha Radiology. The staff made such an uncomfortable procedure as comfortable as possible.

Thanks ladies. I dont want it to seem like "o everyone needs to revolve around me"...but so many people have to work these days, you would think they would be better accommodating! K rant over!

Re: Frustrated...
I'm a teacher also and asking for time off is horrible. My Principal makes it seem like I've asked for a million dollars when I ask to leave 10 minutes early and I never ask for anything. I feel your pain. I decided to go ahead with IVF now, despite the days I will need to take. I had to do what I needed to do, but you have to do what makes you feel comfortable.
It's so hard to balance all of this and work. It's so much added stress.
Good Luck!

I'm a teacher too and all this taking off/leaving early is rough! Not sure where you're located, but I had my HSG done at NSUH one day after school.
