Do you rarely eat out?

I feel like we rarely eat out. I actually prefer cooking dinner at home in general. (Many restaurants can be so disappointing, especially for the cost).

I think if we did not have DS, we'd probably eat out more, but we also save so much by not going out.

It's funny because back in the day, we used to go out 2 or 3x a week!

Yes. We almost never eat out. Only if its a special occasion, like my or DH birthday. Maybe once or twice a month if we are out we will grab fast food, but I dont really consider that the same as "eating out." I prefer cooking.

We rarely go out to eat - probably less than once a month.

We eat out on weekends usually, at least once. During the week..not usually, occasionally we order in though.

we don't have kids but have dramatically cut our eating out. we used to do take out and/or restaurants 3-4x a week.

Then dh started south beach and that was done with! He's super healthy now so we cook all the time...big $$$$$ savings in cooking at home!

We'll go out maybe once a month now as a treat.

We rarely eat out or order in.
We might eat out once or twice a month, and order in twice a month.
Growing up we very rarely ate out and never ordered in, so that's what I'm used to.
I'm used to cooking every day.

we eat at home a lot more now. I would say we eat home very often, and out at a restaurant maybe 1 or 2 times a month now.

we do get take out at least once a week though.

i would say probably once a month. before getting married, buying our house, etc... we used to go out at least once a week but now its hard with all the bills coming in.

WE don't have the money to eat out or take in very often - so dinners are usually a home cooked affair.

However.. I still have an unhealthy addiction to Starbucks and to not bring lunch during the week which is really adding up.

Rarely. Perhaps one meal a month/if at all.

we eat out a loss less than we used to. I'd like to cut down on it even more though. I think going out once a week is enough. We usually go out once a week on our own and then once with my DH's parents. And sometimes we order take out once a week.

practically never. Its so costs too much, only for special occasions really, or with friends occasionally. I love to cook, and atleast i know i am not loading everything up with butter, fatty meat, etc when i make it. I would rather spend the money on good ingredients and cook myself. but cooking really is a passion of mine.

We always say we will do take out once a week... but i end up cooking or we just eat leftovers.!

We don't really go out for dinner often unless it's a date night. We do however go out to lunch on the weekends if we are out and about!

No but we do takeout twice a month

Rarely eat out at a restaurant unless its a family/friend thing or we have a gift certificate

We rarely eat out any more. We will order in a pizza and occasionally - once a month get some other random take out (Thai, Japanese, etc.)

As I have been cooking more and more, I find that not only is it less expensive for me to make it, I like my cooking better than what I have gotten when eating out. I can now replicate my favorite Italian and Chinese dishes so for us I find that I would rather do it my self. I also like that I know exactly what I put into the dish and can make it for less....

We hardly ever eat out unless it's for Chinese, Thai or Japanese. We dont really like to go out and pay for something we can cook and probably make better and healthier.

DH and I used to eat out or get takeout almost all the time when it was just the two of us. Once DS came along and I thought about good foods I wanted him to eat, I realized I needed to make a change in my own eating habits. So, I started cooking a few times a week. Once I got into the rhythm of finding time to cook and cooking things that weren't too labor intensive, I started cooking more and more. I like knowing the ingredients that I'm putting into my meals. Even though it costs less to cook overall, I've had some meals where it costs more (occasionally not that often - I still save overall). I also cook with all natural or organic ingredients whenever I can, and I know that I'm not going to get that when I order takeout.

I still like to get my sushi delivered a couple times a month and I consider it my night off from cooking. DH and I eat out maybe once or twice a month, definitely whenever we have a date night.

To save money, I've started bringing leftovers to work for lunch. Co-workers seem more interested in what I'm bringing in from home than what they're buying

We ate at home cooked foods including all coffee, breakfasts & lunches about 95% of the time for years. We both cook well & love to entertain so we host several dinner parties a year, which is fun!
We are very frugal & I eat mostly organic, all natural or Kosher foods so its easier eating at home. We are also kinda food snobs & don't like any chain food & there aren't many places with great food near our home on LI.

Honestly, we had several years a while back that we actually banked a lot of money even though our income had decreased & I truly attribute it to the savings of eating at home and a few other frugal tips.

We eat out more often now because we are spending more time in the city & our city apartment has a tiny kitchen with a scary old gas stove. We also eat out with friends more when we are in the Hamptons.
