WHAT?!

Come on now - I realize prices on LI are out of control, and I know this is a lot of property for Merrick - but can you imagine paying over a half a million dollars for THIS?!?!

What a rip....

Def. a nice piece of property - but it looks oddly shaped - so they'd have to build some really set back.

It reflects the size of the plot 25X75X165. I know it is very irregularly shaped and I agree the house is tiny but land is the largest factor in house value.

Merrick, south of Sunrise is a very expensive area... houses have really tripled and quadrupled in value in recent years.

ETA: I agree, I wouldn't purchase it. I have a friend in Fort Salonga who spent as much on a cottage, one bedroom, and it needs work, they just put in a new kitchen

I just checked the map, it's in NORTH Merrick! It's WAY north of Sunrise Hwy! so they're lying Chat Icon

huge difference between N Merrick and Merrick.

one thing I have noticed on mlsli, lies all over the place! Chat Icon

Merrick and N Merrick are 2 seperate towns. and Merrick is FAR more desireable. I grew up in the general area. there is a HUGE difference between the 2 towns.

Re: WHAT?!

It doesn't say South Merrick - just "Merrick" listing on MLS which is technically not a lying - just not too specific. Chat Icon (Not that there's anything wrong with North Merrick)

It's odd how they get listed on MLS - when looking I always look under "Merrick" and "South Merrick", but there's obviously the option for "North Merrick" as well.

well, not being up front about being located N Merrick is deceptive... hence a lie Chat Icon

either way, good luck to the seller getting over 1/2 a mill Chat Icon

Re: WHAT?!

I wouldn't call it a lie- they listed the school district as N Merrick- but buyers leave things out all the time to get you to see the house

I'm really not sure why they do that Chat Icon

as a potential homebuyer, something like this would tick me off and I would move on to look at another house.

If the seller is being dishonest from the get go, what else will they not be honest about? JMO, but it’s a huge turnoff.
