Frustrated with my RE office LONG *Update*

UPDATE:
The embryologist called me back and it was not the one I spoke to at the orientation. She was very nice and apologized a few times. She told me for now on just call them directly. She said it was more then fine for him to come in and if they would have asked her they would have said yes. She said she is still going to have the embryologist I spoke to at the orientation who happens to be the director call me to discuss this too. She told me they should have never acted that way but in the past had people lie about appointments. She made me feel better and gave me the direct line for them to call. I am still upset the staff was so nasty though.

We are going to be starting IVF soon and due to my DH’s low sperm count we are freezing some sperm. When we went to the orientation we told the embryologist we live far from their office and asked if it was possible to do a Saturday freeze. The embryologist told us it would be no problem and when you call to make an appointment say she said it was ok and they will make an appointment for us. I just called to make an appointment and the office staff was not very pleasant. I told the receptionist how the embryologist said it was ok and she said well we do not do Saturday appointments for this. I said well the embryologist said it was ok and said to just call. She pulled up my name and said well she did not leave a note. I told her that she would not have because she did not even ask our names and it was an informal thing at the orientation. She went into this explanation how she can get in trouble if that was not true. I told her that I was not making this up and then she went into another explanation how her name is attached to this and if I understood her. I told her I understand but I did not need an explanation. She then says I am going to have someone else help you and just puts me on hold. Someone else comes on and she just said the same thing. I told her you know this is hard enough already I do not need you being this way. They told me well the embryologist you spoke to will not be in until Tuesday to call then.

Am I just being over emotional or was that just unnecessary? The way they spoke makes me believe they do indeed do the freezing on Saturday's only for special situations. They just didn't want their name attached to anything. Why not just say we are not sure and we will have someone from that department call you or say she is not in and we need to get authorization when she is on. I would have been fine but the way they did not want to attach their name to anything.

I called back and left a message for the embryology department. I am just so upset about this whole thing. This is not the first time the staff has gotten nasty.

Also my DH had a SA done on Saturday to see if his counts have improved at all. I called Monday to see if they had results because in the past they called Monday. They said no but someone would call me on Wednesday but only if something was wrong. I told her well we know there is a problem and we just want to know if his count went up. She said oh ok then that is different did you tell them when you dropped it off and I said yes we did. Well Wednesday came and went and no call. I called yesterday and they still had no results and again told me well only if there is a problem they call and I had to go over it again. My DH called later in the day and someone called him back around 6:00.

UNACCEPTABLE. I would call back right now, and ask to speak directly to the embryologist, the RE, the director of the damn clinic. I would not hang up till i spoke to someone that COULD help me. I would def bring this up directly with your doctor and let him know that you are unhappy with the way his support staff has handled your situation thus far.

You deserve to be treated better, period. I am so upset for you. I hope this gets handled quickly

i am so sorry you have to go through this unfortunately a lot of the clinics and larger practices are run like businesses and the people who work their forget the kind of sensitivity they need to have to deal with this stuff. hope you are able to get it all squared away!
