Since Flowerwife is busy today, can someone else help
Since Flowerwife is doing something very important today ( and I am praying hard for her) and will most likely not get to see this q, can someone else help me figure this out?
Today is CD14, I went for u/s, I have only one follie on my right side at 20mm ( I took 50mg clomid), lining is 12. so RE told me to give myself Ovidrel shot tomorrow am, and then BD on Sunday night and Monday night. After that, I am to start Crionine ( prgo suppositories). Ok, tons of questions here ( since this is the first time I am doing his shot)
1) Pharmacy is supposed to deliver meds tonight. Do I need to freeze Ovidrel till tomorrow am? Freeze or just refrigerate? Or just room t? 2) I am scared about the shot. They showed to me how to do it, but what do I need to know to have it go smoothly? They told me to wipe alcohol before the shot, do the shot. Do I need to use ice afterwards? 3) Now, if I do trigger shot Sat am, he told me to have sex Sunday night and Monday night. I am thinking: isn't Sunday night is a long wait from Sat morning? 4) What will I count as my O date? 5) Will testing with home preg tests make sense if I will be on prog suppositories? I mean, can you test while on prog? What is the earliest I can start testing if I trigger tomorrow?
Thank you, ladies

Re: Since Flowerwife is busy today, can someone else help
did you really think i wouldnt be here to respond
1) fridge the ovidrel 2) I personally use ice before and after. most people dont for sub-q but i do. i ice for 5 mins, alcohol, squeeze a nice chunk of skin, inject, then ice/alcohol again for a second if necessary. its so easy its no big deal AT ALL you will be fine!!! 3) did your DH have count issues? most people ovulate about 36 hours post trigger, so thats prob why they gave you that schedule. if you dont have count issues saturday is OK too. otherwise just wait til sunday but you prob dont have to wait until nighttime. 4) 36 hours post trigger you can "assume" is O time 5) don't test until 12DPO (13-14 days post trigger). progesterone won't effect the test, but ovidrel will. if you want you can use HPTs for a few days after trigger to make sure the trigger is out of your system.. usually its out by 6 or 7 DPO. you can almost be sure that by 12DPO the trigger will be out and the results will be as accurate as anyone else testing before AF is due. also progesterone can make AF late. do you have a beta scheduled? you should stay on progesterone until you have a result from beta, even if you get all negative HPTs.
good luck and have fun

Re: Since Flowerwife is busy today, can someone else help
I can help a little with a few of your questions but I am not an expert. This past cycle was my first time on Clomid and with Ovidrel.
1. Just keep the ovidrel on the door fo your refrigerator (that's what my nurse told me).
2. I was away on business so I had to do my shot alone at night in a hotel room. It really wasnt bad at all (and I am a BIG baby). If you go to the ovidrel site, they have a video with instructions.
3. I triggered at 11pm on a Tuesday night. I ovulated sometime between 11pm Wednesday night and 7am Thursday morning. So I think if you trigger Saturday, then I would BD Sunday day and Monday morning. But that is just my opinion.
4. I'm gonna say you will probably O late on Sunday into Monday morning. The egg will hang out for a while which is why BD Monday night is a good idea.
5. I was told that the ovidrel is an HCG shot so you shouldn't POAS for 10 days because that is how long hte HCG will be in your body from the trigger.
Anyone - feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Re: Since Flowerwife is busy today, can someone else help
1- Ovidrel goes in refrigerator
2- I wipe with alcohol, do the shot, that's it. You CAN use ice beforehand if you want. It's not necessary. I am used to gonal-f and used to ice before using that but now I am sooo used to it. It's really a matter of preference. Either way, you really don't feel it too much and it only lasts a few seconds!
3 and 4- I will answer this together. I can't answer this quite as well as our lady flowerwife... but I have always done my trigger at 9pm then IUI the next two mornings/early afternoon- I don't know if that helps you at all here Also, if I triggered on a Monday night for example, I would assume I would O on Wednesday and count Thursday as 1dpo.
5- Progesterone does NOT impact an HPT at all. What DOES is the Ovidrel. You will get an positive HPT up until like 7 or 8 dpo. You can test out the trigger (test everyday from the day you trigger and watch it gradually get lighter) I know flowerwife has done this .... but personally I would just wait till like 10dpo at the EARLIEST to test and I think that would be accurate! (flowerwife will say 12dpo ) If you trigger tomorrow, I would test October 19th at the earliest.
ETA: oops I meant the 21st! (10dpo)
Good luck!!

it is my first on clomid and ovidrel too. How did it go for you? how many follies did you have? what dose of clomid?

It wasnt bad at all. I only did 50mg because I already ovulated on my own. Dr. just wanted to up my chances a bit. I only release one egg but produced about 5 follies. I'm 8/9 dpiui right now.

how is it possible to have 5 follies and 1 egg? does it mean that not every follie release an egg? ok, i am thinking if i only have one foliie, how do i know if it will release an egg?
GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

You always have follies. Sometimes more than one can mature, sometimes only one matures. The mature one(s) are the follies that will release and egg.
My first iVF I had 20 something follies, but only had 6 eggs retrieved.

The nurse at the Dr's office told me to do it below my belly button but within an inch or two of it.
ETA- Good luck with everything! Hope it goes well

im sure you did it right. you cant really mess it up. and you will def O. it is extremely rare to not O from the trigger shot. it almost never happens.
stay positive and have fun!! despite the meds you are still making a baby the regular way!!
