Hi Everyone!

I'm a grad student at Hofstra and one of my professors runs a project called "Education First" (a not for profit organization for improving the quality of education for children in Liberia). Last year he collected donations so he could provide scholarships for the children so they could afford to buy the uniforms, shoes, etc. required to attend the schools there. He also designed and conducted professional development programs for teachers and supplied schools with instructional materials.

Most of the children there cannot attend school because they can't afford the things required to go and obviously cannot afford things like backpacks and notebooks. This year he's collecting backpacks to be shipped to children in grades K-6.

If you have any old backpacks laying around that you want to get rid of and are interested in donating them to this project please let me know! The shipment will be taking place around Oct 20 so we're under a bit of a time crunch! My professor will be going to Liberia around Christmas and will be able to send pictures of the children back to us so we can see how happy they are to have those simple luxuries !

TIA!!
