So I made those choc chip cookies
with the instant vanilla pudding mix and they were...EHHH...
I followed the recipe to a T. The ones I underbaked were chewy and soft, but the ones I cooked according to the recipe were very cakey and crispy. Maybe it was my butter or flour?
I also made homemade brownies and they came out like choc cake...I want thick and fudgy, like Ghirardelli.
I am getting frustrated bc my mother is an insane baker and clearly I am lacking her skills!

Re: So I made those choc chip cookies
I'm just an adequate baker.. I get by. It makes me crazy because I WANT to be really good at it - but most of my efforts are just okay.
Definitely try the recipe Haley posted last week for Chocolate Chip Cookies. It was fabulous - even with someone like ME making it!

Re: So I made those choc chip cookies
ok, so i have the BEST foolproof brownie recipe ( i got it from a friend but i think it may have been a Giada recipe), they are INCREDIBLY delicious (not diet friendly though), and its a super easy, one pot recipe. Give it a try and everyone will think you are the the brownie queen :)
3 sticks unsalted butter 12 oz bittersweet chocolate 6 eggs 1 tblsp vanilla 1 tsp salt 1 1/2 cup flour 1 1/2 cup sugar 1 cup semisweet choc chips 1 cup white choc chips
In a pot you would use for boiling water for pasta, melt the butter and chocolate over low heat. When smoothe, take off heat and whisk in one egg at a time. Mix in vanilla and salt Mix in flour and sugar Mix in semisweet and white chocolate chips
Pour into a greased rectangle baking pan and bake for 30 minutes at 350
For VERY fudgey brownies, cool for about 15 minutes and put into fridge for a few hours. I usually like to leave it overnight for the best fudgey results.
