I am so bummed.....
We are going to Disney next week and we just got a notice home that my DS's kindergarten pics are being taken next Thursday 
I know for his personal pics there is probably a make-up day, but now he wont be in the class pic 
I told my dear friend ( ) that I would like for her to photo-shop him in it 
But I'm still kinda sad ....

Knowing exactly how you are about things I can understand how bummed you are...
But once you get down to Disney all will be OK...

Sorta in the same boat...going to Disney in 2 weeks and my son's first field trip in kindergarten to the pumpkin farm will take place when he is in Disney...sad that he is going to miss out too...

Disney is SO MUCH BETTER! So please don't stress.
There will most likely be other, unofficial class pictures taken down the line at events like holiday parties, fieldday, etc, so there will be other opportunities. If not, make your own opportunity and ask the teacher if you can drop by to take a class pic for a special project you're doing (worry about what the project will be later. LOL)

awww...I'd be bummed too....even though you know you will alll be having a fantastic time in Disney!!! I'd saw go for that photoshop - maybe a cut epicture form Disney with Mickey ears on !! 
Question - when did you tell the school/teacher you are pulling him out for trip? what did you say? and the response? DH thinks is it no big deal but I am scared...hehe

I completely get it. I do think photoshopping him in with mickey ears is an adorable idea.
For future reference, it may be listed in your school calendar. I go through & highlight everything first chance I get.

LOVE the Mickey ears idea !! I will totally do that thanks !
My DS's teacher told the parents during open school night that she encourages family vacations and that time with family is very valuable and if the only time you can go away is during the school year, that we should not let it stop us ( she did say she could only speak from a kindergarten standpoint)
She also said that vacations and such are not legal excuses for absenses but family "emergencys" are
So that is the route we will be taking...
I notified her that we will need to be out of state next week and will write her a formal note tommorrow

I will definately be checking next year before we make plans....This peticular trip was booked before the calendar went out
