Freaky Breathing
I had this strange dream where some one was sobbing like. I wake up & it's Saoirse breathing. It was like a bunch of short breaths. Totally freeaked me out I noticed her dodie looked to be covering her nose. So I moved the handle out of the way. She remained asleep but, kept breathing that way. MY husband had left a 1/2 hour prior & said he didn't hear her breathing like that. I took the dodie out of her mouth & she woke up (of course) but, her breathing was then normal. but, when I put the dodie back in her mouth she started breathing funny again. She has slept w/ a dodie from day 1. I'm assuming she might have had a bit of a stuffy nose. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I honestly thought she was having a seizure

Re: Freaky Breathing
awww - that sounds scary. When Ryan has a stuffy nose he sounds like he is breathing a little funny. Especially when he has the pacifier in his mouth. The one night I got so scared I ripped him out of the crib and gave him saline drops. Thank god he went back to sleep. The saline drops really help. Have you ever tried them? Little noses makes them for kids.
Good luck. I hope she feels better.

Re: Freaky Breathing
I would mention it to the pediatrician. I had a friend whose daughter needed to get her adenoids (sp?) removed because she was taking too long in between breaths (opposite then Saiorse).
Probably just a stuffy nose, but doesn't hurt to mention it. That and of course the mommy in you would require that you stay up all night listening to her breathing.

Re: Freaky Breathing
Well she hasn't done it in her naps so I think it was just a stuffy nose (Thank God) I do have the saline drops. They are a life saver sometimes.

Re: Freaky Breathing
Katie was doing the same and I asked my ped about it - he said its totally normal and that their breathing isn't totally regular yet and those short little breaths are OK. But I guess ti be sure you should ask your ped since your baby is older than Katie.
