Traveling with injectables
I will be traveling soon for a friend's wedding and might be using my injections by then.
It's about a 5hr drive so I plan on just using a cooler with ice packs while in the car, but what do you ladies suggest if there isn't a refrigerator in the hotel room?
I inquired about whether or not there would be a refrigerator in the room and they said no
. Just another thing to have anxiety about
ETA: We would be making a long weekend getaway out of it so figure 3 nights- if that makes a difference. A cooler wouldn't be good enough that whole time.
Updated: Problem solved Changed hotels to one that DOES have a refrigerator in each room. (Originally we went with the place my friend blocked off rooms with).

Actually, you'll need a frig or some way to keep your ice packs cool. Other idea, do they have a frig in the hotel at all. Maybe you can cool a set in their frig while you use a set in your cooler. I was just looking around the web for a mini-fridge, but my PC is sooo slow. Do a search. Maybe there's one for like $20 somewhere. Good luck.

Problem solved! We originally booked with the place my friend blocked off rooms and had a deal with.
I shopped around the internet and called a different hotel and they DO have mini refrigerators in all rooms. It's no longer a concern. Phew!
I'll use the icepacks in the car and then store them in the fridge to use again on the way back.
Ahhh this is NOT something most people should be concerned about! Usually I just care if the room gets good cable tv

For the future, if you cant get a fridge in your room, I packaged my meds in ziplock bags and put them in a thermal bag with ice. All hotels have ice and as the ice would melt, I would just replace it.

Thank you! I will keep this in mind for the future- it's good to know that kind of "refrigeration" is good enough to store the injection for an extended period of time!
I know I will be worried about it while it's in the cooler while we drive, but I just have to remind myself it comes to me on a plane sitting on an icepack...... so I'm sure its gotta be fine!
