Diet for non-dieters
I am not a fan of diets. I am a picky eater and have IBS so eating healthy is on fun on my taste buds or intestines. But I do need to lose this baby weight (11.5 lbs to go!). Here are the little changes I am making to my diet --- share yours too so I can get more ideas! * I am addicted to Arizona Green Tea. My new rule is, if I want some green tea, I have to drink an equal amount of water first. SO I am cutting my iced tea intake in half. * No candy bars, snacks, or iced tea during the middle of the night when I am up to feed the babies. This was a big problem of mine! Now I can have water and thats it. * I eat an egg sandwich every day... now I am doing 1 whole egg and 1 egg white instead of 2 eggs... 1 piece of cheese instead of 2.... 1 piece of bread instead of 2... and bacon on weekends only. * Sucking on M&Ms instead of scarfing down a whole candy bar. This satisfies my need for chocolate daily.

Re: Diet for non-dieters
I don't know Julie that sounds like a diet to me
Here are some things that help me.
-I don't keep any snacks in the house I will feel guilty about. No chips, no chocolate, no baked goods. Instead I have pretzels, baby carrots and tons of fruit. -I think it's really important to portion things out. For example, with my coffee in the morning I ALWAYS meaure the amount of creamer that goes in. I am always weighing and measuring my food even if I am not being good about tracking. That way I am at least keeping servings to what they should be. -I am addicted to ice cream!! Especially chocolate If I want it, I make myself go out and get it. The extra effort tends to make me give up on the idea but if I am hell bent on getting some it is only a scoop or a large serving of non-fat ice cream/yogurt. -I drink tons of water. TONS! If you are dehydrated you can feel hungry at times. -When eating out I try to make healthier (but not necissarily the healthiest) choices. If I am getting something like a fajita I get chicken instead of steak. If I am getting a wrap or a panini I get veggies or grilled chicken and get it on whole wheat bread.

Re: Diet for non-dieters
I NEED chocolate every day. I need it like I need my coffee every day....
I have my fix of a large unhealthy milk chocolate candy bar filled with nuts and toffee and such once a week.
The rest of the week I will have a "row" of DARK chocolate.

Actually part of dieting is eating snacks all day long! You just need to make them healthy snacks. Try to pick up some low fat options of some of your favorite foods. Most low fat products don't taste bad, fat free on the other hand tends to taste pretty bad. But even substituting low fat cheese can make a big difference. Try to keep fruits and veggies in the house to snack on.

Re: Diet for non-dieters
I'm pretty good at not eating fatty foods, its the fat free & low fat stuff that I over do it on.
-I eat a very light breakfast..coffee, lots of berries & greek yogurt -I am addicted to ice cream so I allow myself a cup of it whenever I want but I try to count it towards my dinner (I eat less dinner) OR I make sure I measure it and make up for the calories with running. I only eat low fat or fat free though. -I tend to eat like 4-5x per day...small meals/snacks but I make sure most of my choices count (and include fiber, protein) I like to eat and enjoy doing it often! -If I eat a lot of junk during the day I usually only will eat veggies for dinner (I dont really eat much meat anyway) Roasted veggies, veggies sandwichs, veggie pizza (no cheese), salads, things like that. -Smoothies and protien drinks have helped me a lot...the Spirutien vanilla whey powder with almond milk is pretty good for about 150 calories...a few ice cubes in the blender ...tastes like ice cream thereby feeding my addiction! Or, freeze overripe bananas or use frozen fruit to make the smoothies.
My problem is I drink on the weekends, usually wine, and I think the alcohol keeps on about 5 more pounds than I'd like!!! Oh well, its worth it
eta: Funny, I had IBS for years and with my 1st pregnancy and now after the kids it is pretty much gone. How are you after the twins? Did it get any better?
