Has anyone been to the new Italian place by the smithhaven mall?

Has anyone been to the new Italian place by the smithhaven mall?
We tried to go there yesterday - at 5pm on Sunday. The place was practically empty, but they pretty much turned us away saying there were reservations. They were doing this to other families too.
We went across the street to Cheescake factory instead. When we left there around 6:30, the parking lot was still pretty empty.
It really turned me off to the place. You turn away business in an empty restaurant? I'm not even sure if I want to try going again.

Were the people that were being turned away have children 
Hope they aren't one of those restaurants..JMO

we went last weekend (with DS) for lunch. it's nice inside and the menu for dinner seems pretty good. we had panini's off the lunch menu...DH was good, mine I sent back cause it was ice cold.
