I tried to be involved last year...but since I am only 25, many of the women with children SD's age are older than me and seem kind of snobbish...I really tried to be involved and give my input but they kind of just shut me down....this year I'm staying out of it. I'm a ball buster when it comes to getting SD everything she is due at school, so I'm not worried about losing out on the inside benefit of being a PTA mom.
I'm only 23 so this was a concern for me when thinking about joining. I swear back to school night was probably the first time in my life I was the youngest person in an elementary school building  I felt like I would never fit in. Ultimately, I didn't join but the reason is because I realized, duh, I work 3 evenings durinig the week & the other 2 I don't have childcare for so I'd never be able to go to the meetings.
