This Should Never Happen.
Robbie told me today that a little girl from his class died just before school started.. at the end of the summer. She had been sick for quite some time. I remember her from Kindergarten - she was the most adorable little dumpling with gorgeous brown eyes and the most brilliant smile. I remember commiserating with her mom about the sheer volume of candy that the kids got for every single holiday.
And last year.. she was in Robbie's class again - but she got pulled out part of the way through because she was too sick to continue. I didn't think for one minute that she wouldn't come back to school.
My heart is broken for her family. This is not something that should ever happen to any parent.
I hope you will all please take a moment to send your love and your good thoughts to a family that lost a precious gift a few weeks ago.

One of DD's friends has an older sibling who was in remission from leukemia but had a relapse over the summer, it's heartbreaking.
Prayers for anyone who has a sick child, I can't imagine how difficult that is.

all of those emotions are felt for them. i said my prayers prior to posting. i am angry that anything like this could happen to a child. sad and overwhelmed about the hurt for them.
my prayers will continue.
devastating. just devastating.
i say my prayers and tell my children every day how lucky daddy and I are to have healthy children (so- far!)
