Can you share your wardrobe essentials for work and where you usually buy them? I am in desperate need to revamp my career clothing.

I'm a social worker, and I usually buy my clothes at NY&CO. I don't have to dress completely "professional", but I like to be appropriately dressed. I have a lot of the button up blouses, in all different sleeve lengths, because you can wear them alone, or under sweaters or vests. Cardigans are also good, as are those little shrugs, because I don't wear anything without sleeves to work, and these go great over tank tops or shirts with small straps. And tank tops - which NY&CO calls body shapers - are also essential for going under shirts that may be too low cut for work. Of course, you need pants, and I try to buy at least one black pair, one gray pair, and a tan pair, that way you can match with pretty much everything. Some places have dress codes with dresses, skirts, and capris, so check your company's policy before you buy anything new. I'm just starting a new job, and they said you're not allowed to wear capris or bermuda shorts, and only crop length is permitted, as long as it is only 2" above your ankle. Of course I just bought a ton of bermuda shorts last year!!!

I am a Corporate recruiter for a creative industry.
I wear wide leg pants alot. Crop pants with heels, Wrap dresses, blazers with Jeans but our office is uber casual so I can get away with jeans and T-shirts with funky accessories.

Shop: Ann taylor Loft, Ralph lauren, Top Shop, Bluefly, Ebay, Dillards, Nordstroms, Bloomies, H&M, MACYS-Mainly their INC line.

Shoes I love AMAZON.com, Endless.com, Zappos, DSW

I am an attorney during the week and mommy of 2 during weekends (and the other days but you know what I mean)

Work clothes: Ann Taylor Loft, GAP, Banana Republic

I love dresses and black pants with different tops--bright colors...

Weekends: skinny jeans, leggings, sweats from NY&Co.

Shoes: Flats, heels, Uggs, sneakers--mostly from zappos.com

For work:
NY & CO - for nice tops, sweaters, dressier tanks and throw something over it
Express - love their pants. They're pricey, but the only dressy pants that fit the best for me
Annie Sez - really has a nice section for dresses, suits, etc


Weekends - stores above for cute tops and I love my Seven jeans. I keep buying them b/c they fit the best.

Also, casual - GAP, Anne Taylor Loft, Nordstroms BP section (I know it's young, but they have cute stuff and I don't get the stuff too young looking. just tanks, sweaters and cute skirts0
I even like Target for cheap tanks and throw overs for the weekend
