Need help with night training
J will be 5 next week, she doesn't wet herself when she naps and is fully potty trained during the day, however nights are a different story. I make sure she goes to the bathroom before bed and limit her fluid intake as well. She wakes up pretty wet every morning and I can tell wearing a pull up at night is starting to bother her.
ETA she is also a VERY sound sleeper

Re: Need help with night training
With my 1st DD I just took off the pull up "cold turkey" when she was 5 (the pull up was still soaked every morning, so I knew she wasn't ready) and dealt with accidents almost every night for about a month.
With DD#2, she asked to take off the pull up for bedtime herself at around 4 or so (she asked for underwear) and never wet the bed, except for a few accidents since then.
So, each child is different, trial and error, and also each parent's style may be different (some are ok just dealing with the nightime wetting, sleep being disturbed, etc just to get the training over with). Also, different pediatricians (within the same practice) gave me different advice.

Re: Need help with night training
I went through this with my dd too. I was freaking out about it. I bought depends pads and put them under her sheets. I started out going into her room a few times a night and carrying her into the bathroom, she would go - pretty much as she was sleeping and still waking up soaking wet.
Finally, I just said that's it, we removed the pullup and if she had an accident she did. But what I found was that all of a sudden it clicked - she started waking up on her own and going.
It was almost like she knew she had the pull ups on and she was relying on them for security.
I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU'RE FEELING. Don't worry, it'll happen~~

Re: Need help with night training
First - I am SOOO jealous that she still naps. My kids have not napped for over 2 years.
Second - It took Joey longer to night train and he finally said he didn't want to wear pullups. He was wet often but we just limited his water at night and finally it clicked. We also put a night light in his room and in the hallway so that he could see his way to the bathroom himself. I wonder if the pull up is a security and maybe if it is not there she won't wet the bed.
Good Luck! Changing the sheets every morning was so not fun!

Re: Need help with night training
Last summer, Ella decided for herself one day that she didn't want to wear pull-ups anymore - she had been day time trained since 2.5yrs but still wearing pull-ups at night. For her, they were a crutch.
When wearing a pull-up, she would wake up very wet. When she stopped wearing them she was dry (with a few accidents).
She always goes potty before bed, and then I put her on again before I go to bed (she pretty much sleeps though this - she's a sound sleeper too, but she always goes).
Only in recent weeks have I stopped the potty run before I go to bed (she's 4 now). She won't go to the bathroom by herself during the night - she either comes to get me, or calls out.

Re: Need help with night training
I just replied on the other thread about bewetting but with L, he was a sound sleeper too. Still is. The pediatrician recommended waking him in the night to go. Make sure she can walk herself not just carrying her to the toilet and carrying her back to her bed. If she's a sound sleeper, she should be able to fall right back asleep. Anyway, the waking them seems to trigger the concious thoughts about peeing and night behavior. It worked with him, he was about 5 at the time too.
