Male Infertility
Just wondering if anyone has had this obstacle to overcome and if you have any advice. ECF recommened IVF as our most likely option, and maybe IUI being an option if we wait a couple more months and monitor if the sperm count increases. We are just beside ourselves because our insurance only covers IUI, not IVF.

Re: Male Infertility
We have female and male infertility issues. DH's infertility issue was cause unknown and somewhat inconsistent. Has your DH been seen my a urologist that specializes in infertilty? If not, definitely start there. Good luck!

Re: Male Infertility
Yes, the urologist is the one who recommened IVF after monitoring DH for the past 7 months.

Re: Male Infertility
Based on everything I've discussed with my RE and of course judging from DH's and my situation it seems that IVF is the way to go when you have male IF issues. He has borderline count, slightly low morphology and fragmentation issues and I have borderline FSH. We tried on our own for one and a half years with no luck and then did 3 IUIs and nothing.... now we're going through IVF. Looking back I wish I hadn't wasted any time with IUI based on our issues - but then again our insurance covers for IVF.....
Good Luck to you!

Whats his count? My cousin did 4 iuis and her last there were 3 yes THREE sperm...it worked it was nuts!!! I would try IUI first since it is covered and the cycles go so fast.........but it all depends on your age also..How old are you

Re: Male Infertility
We did IVF but we also got pregnant in the past naturally. Male factor infertility is definitely something that can be variable but if you are impatient I would definitely consider IVF.

Re: Male Infertility
He had been on the HCG shot from January to May, once he stopped them, as per his Urologist, in June his count was zero, yup, no sperm at all Then in July &August it I think it was a aprox. 5000 and August was only 1.25million. ECF did do the freeze with that sample in the hopes we may have some good swimmers to work with. In the mean time he is gonna do one more SA this month and then pplan on meeting with our doctor again to see if he thinks IUI is a viable option. We are young (at least in my opinion-lol), we both turned 29 this year. We werent really trying hard for the past 4 years, just more like lettting nature takes its course, but a year ago we decided to finally suck it up and face the fact that we arent getting any younger and started on our new journey. Its just so frustrating because he feels awful, sad, embarressed, etc., and I feel like their is nothing I can do to make him feel better. Just wish sometimes it was me who was "broken" (for lack of a better word), then him, I might be able to cope better, but then again, I would prob feel the same way. Thank you so much for sharing your "3" story, it gives me lots of hope!

Re: Male Infertility
We had both issues. I don't ovulate, and DH had severe morphology issues. (3 SA's showed between 0%-1% morphology). IVF with ICSI was our only option.

Why did the dr stop the hcg shots? What dosage was he taking? My DH takes 2cc 3 times per week and went from ZERO sperm to normal counts (30 million) in 3 months. Does the dr have any idea what might be the problem?
I would recommend a second opinion with another urologist. Also i have DH taking these supplements - the same ingredrients as ProXeed:
Rainbow Light Mens One Multivitamin CoQ10 30mg Acetyl-L Carnitine 500mg L-Carnitine 1000mg
