Eating places near Valley Stream, Nassau?
A college roommate is flying in to NY for a job interview and wants to meet with me for drinks, dessert, coffee, etc. She is visiting another friend in Valley Stream and suggested I meet with her in VS since I live a few towns away from there..
Thing is I don't know Valley Stream area at all other than driving through it on Sunrise Hwy on my way to Green Acres/Belt Parkway..Are there any restaurants or eateries in Valley Stream you ladies would recommend? I'm looking for a place similar to the International Delight Cafe in Rockville Center/Bellmore..

Rockville centre is not far so if u like the place you mentioned why don't u meet there

Or you could meet halfway in Lynbrook.
I can't think of any restaurants in Valley Stream area ... like you I am usually just driving through!

On Rockaway Avenue (left off of Sunrise if coming from Queens) there is PJ Harper's (a pub) and Berto's Ristorante (Italian Restaurant).
In Lynbrook on Atlantic Avenue (again left off of Sunrise coming from Queens) there is Angelina's (Italian) and Broadway Beanery (coffee, drinks, cafe).

I love eating in RVC, the only problem is the parking. I hate parking by the meters (thats if I can even get a spot during peak dinner hoours!) since I have to rummage my purse for quarters, and then the municipal lot is either full or a long walk from where we want to go...I ruled it out because she might get lost finding a place among all the ones on Park Ave, etc...otherwise I would told her to meet me at IDC for dessert.

If you want to go for Indian there is Diya on Rockaway which used to be the old Rockaway Cafe. It's across the street from PJ Harpers.
Also sushi at Kaiseki on Merrick. It's right next to the laundromat and you can park in the back.
Mitchell's is a great diner.
