East Coast Fertility.....
Ok ladies...give me the good, the bad, and the ugly!
I know that everyone would recommend Dr. B., but honestly his office location and hours are really inconvenient to DH and I. And I know that there is RSoNY out east but out of all the internet research I've done ECF seems to be a better fit for me.
So, basically what I am asking is......if you've used ECF, what were your thoughts/feelings/opinions? Which Dr's did you prefer? Which of there locations did you visit?
As of Tuesday, DH and I are done with our "summer IF vacation". It's time to get knocked up!!!!!
ETA: Our IF time out has been the best thing for our marriage. But now.....it's game time!

I'd figure out a way to make Dr. B work. I wish I had.

Re: East Coast Fertility.....
Suprised none of you had a good experience with East Coast Fertility, may I ask why?
To the poster who posted this, I used/use them and they've brought me nothing but JOY. I have a PERFECT 23mos old DD with my first IVF try(we transferred two), then got PG (just recently)right away AGAIN with a FET (and only transferring one), but unfortunately it was non-viable and I lost the baby. However, that hasd NOTHING to do with them.
What else would you like to know?

Re: East Coast Fertility.....
I started out at East Coast. I found their monitoring hours and appointment times rerally convenient. And the fact that you can go to either office for your appointments. My OB/GYN referred me to Dr Kreiner but when I called to set up a consultation he was out on family emergency so I saw Dr Pena. He was nice but kept telling me odds of cenceiving and percentages, etc. That really annoyed me. And whenI asked questions about endo, or other tests they can do he just dismissed me. I had 3 IUI's and 2 IVF's with them with no success so I went for a second opinion and am happier with Dr. B. I know a few people who have had success with them. I hear Dr. Zapantis (at east coast) is very good. Good luck!!

Re: East Coast Fertility.....
I used ECF and saw Dr. Zapanitis in the Plainview office. I thought he was great and I thought everyone in the office was very nice and helpful. The hours for monitoring are very convenient (I work in NYC and was able to get there for monitoring and still make it to my train and the office ontime). whenever I called with a question, someone was always there to answer it. Dr. Z explained everything and never gave me reason to doubt my chances of getting pg. And the reason you may care most about-I had a bvack to back medicated IUI and got pg on the first try. I have a beautiful DD who is just shy of 4 months. I know everyone raves about Dr. B and I am sure he is wonderful, but he is not the only RE out there and many women have amazing stories to tell using other doctors. Good luck!

Re: East Coast Fertility.....
I see Dr. Zapantis at ECF in the Plainview office and really like him and the staff. Actually, they just opened another office in Plainview for monitoring and IUIs. The OR will stay where it is and they're making the other part of that building for acupuncture and other wellness services. I know it's a way for them to bring in revenue, but I like that those services will be available to me through ECF if I want them.
The staff are all super friendly and very helpful. The location is convenient, as are the monitoring hours. My friend had Dr. Kreiner. She didn't really care for his bedside manner, but he is a great doc and helped her conceive a beautiful son. Dr. Zapantis has a great bedside manner and he actually listens to my concerns and moves at my pace. This was my second cycle with them - just had my second IUI today, so no success yet, but hoping and this cycle is it. The office has a great flow and things seem very orderly. When I need meds they're called in practically as I walk out the door. Feel free to FM if you have specific questions.

Re: East Coast Fertility.....
I chose ECF bc of the multiple locations and monitoring hours. We had been trying unsuccessfully for a year and decided to see a RE. We met with Dr. Pena... Honestly, at first his personality was a little flat...but he always answered all my crazy questions and emails quickly. As I started to see him more, I felt more of his personality came out... He would joke around more.
That being said... I had two failed IUIs (oh yea... diagnosed unexplained infertility) and got PG on my first IVF with transferring only one embryo. I felt all the nurses were great and overall I was very happy with my experiences. I am now 8 months pg with a beautiful baby girl and due to have her this Halloween!!
I have 6 frozen embies for when I feel its time for a FET... Feel free to FM me with any questions.

Re: East Coast Fertility.....
I saw Dr. Z at ECF. I loved him and did 3 IUIs before he suggested IVF. I had an issue with the head nurse who called me out because I called and asked questions. One bad moment can throw you off a little. I love Dr. B because he is finding a reason for me not being able to get pregnant. He is running blood tests and trying to find out why the embryo is not implanting. My problem with the other places and i have been to Mineola and North Shore was that they kept on moving me on the the next step without figuring out why the first step was not working. I did like the hours at ECF and aside from the head nurse the staff was wonderful. I find at Dr. B's the women in the waiting room are talkative and we talk about what we have gone through where at ECF its a different group of women. If ECF works for you the I would go with Dr. Z we loved him it just wasn't the right place for us. Good Luck, Caren
