What is your clinics criteria for freezing embryos?

How do they determine which ones get to be frozen, is it the number of cells, number of days, only the ones that make it to blast in a certain amount of time, etc? My clinic waited till Day 6, is this the norm? I can’t help but wonder if they froze a day earlier I would have a better chance my 2nd time around (now).

Not sure of all the criteria, but I know mine only freezes ones that make it to blast...Out of the 3 we had frozen , one was a day 5 and 2 were day 6 and we used one that took for this past FET Chat Icon

I'm not sure of the criteria for freezing, but there's definitely a system that they use.

I know for us, we had 10 embryos to freeze. We froze 7 on day 5 and we were waiting on the other 3 because they weren't progressing as quickly. On day 6, I got the call that they did meet the criteria for freezing.

I don't know which we used for our transfers, but of course it was from highest to lowest quality.

Our first FET failed (thawed 3, transferred 3)
Our second was successful (thawed 5, 2 did not survive, transferred 3).

We still have 2 left.
