Is anyone around? I have a question....
So, we just brought Ava home today, and I noticed before when I changed her diaper, she had mucous coming out of her vagina and also in her stool I'm totally freaking out and I have no idea what this is. I only had to change her diaper once in the hospital because of the surgery so I don't even know if that was happening in the hospital. Also, she was only being BF in the hospital(no milk supply yet, but colostrum), but today I got so freaked out that I supplemented with formula for two feedings. I don't know if that info is significant, but I am just worried about her!!!

Hi, I'm here too. I don't blame you for being worried. I was too when this happened to my little girl. For me, it happened in the hospital so I asked the nurses and the doctor everybody said that it is normal and fine. It will go away in a couple of days but it is nothing to worry about! I hope this helps you.

Re: Is anyone around? I have a question....
You're welcome! I totally understand how you feel. Try to get some rest tonight and relax. It will get easier for you. I've only been doing this for 7 weeks and I'm starting to get less freaked about lots of stuff. You will too.
Enjoy every minute of her!!! You won't believe how fast it goes.

Totally normal, you may even find a little blood too! It's like a mini period and they said it's from all your hormones. No worries Rach little Ava is fine!

Each one of your responses has made me feel that much better! However, I forgot to share this info with JT, whoopsie, and he just changed her diaper and FREAKED. There's no blood, just mucous still. Poor JT is out of the loop already!! But he thanks everyone, as well

Re: Is anyone around? I have a question....
The discharge is totally normal. It can even have blood in it at times. It has to do with releasing hormones from you. If you really want to BF and produce enough milk I don't recommend supplementing with formula. Your body will take care of it. But that is your decision on what you feel comfortable with.
