Why oh why
won't my cervix dilate? I had an internal tonight that hurt like a b*tch, and I'm not dilated at all. So now the doc is talking induction, and I'm scheduled for an induction on 6/26! 
All I can think about is how pitocin supposedly makes contractions even worse, and I'll probably end up with a c-section anyway, b/c I won't dilate.
Does anyone know of anyone who was induced and did not end up with a c-section?

Plenty of women...try not to worry.
Take a walk and enjoy the weather - maybe that'll help! I've also heard about eggplant somewhere on these boards...

I have two friends who were induced. One had vaginal birth and the other had c-section.

I was induced and had my daughter vaginally
Pitocin does make the contractions stronger ....get an epidural. Unfortunately I didnt

Me! Twice! #1 was 11 days late and #2 was 3 days late. Neither one was coming out without a little medical intervention!
Don't worry! ALOT can happen before June 26th.

I was induced and had a vaginal delivery. It was great because I knew when I was going in, everything was packed and taken care of.
Chances are the Dr. will induce me again this time, if I don't go on my own by Dec. 15th! I'm so happy with this idea and its nice to know that my little one will be here by the 15th and I won't have to wait around and stress about it.

a lot of times when the OB does the "painful" internal, they do things to speed things up!

I was induced at 9 days late and gave birth naturally at 11 days late! The pitocin does make the contractions quite painful quite quickly, BUT the epidural will make sure you forget all about that nice and quickly!!!
My induction took 3 days, but in the end it was worth it for my cheeky monkey!!!
eta...was the painful internal maybe a membrane strip??? They do that sometime to help break your waters
