Anyone afraid of getting on the scale and just go by how they feel and how your clothes fit?

I don't know why but I'm pertrified to get on the scale. DH keeps asking me what I weigh since he's commented on seeing a weight loss. I think I'm so wrapped up in a number that I want to see that it prevents me from getting on the scale. Bizarre? Am I alone?

Just go on that scale and whatever the number it is what it is.

It's just a number but it will help you also face reality.

I was scared to go on it. And it was BAD!!!!! But you have to have a start weigh in with WW.Chat Icon

I lost my fear of the scale. The numbers are coming down and that's all the matter. My journey to my goal weight.

I eventually told DH my weight after a few weeks into WW. He did not tell me his right away just "I had a lot of weight to lose" but after 12 weeks he told me what his current weight is. He was not ready to tell me until this week and that's fine too!

We both lost a significant amount of weight, what we were does not matter.

Maybe you can weight yourself and just tell him your weight when you are comfortable with it. Maybe this week, maybe in other month or so.

very well said.

your DH has noticed weight loss, that's a wonderful sign that you're moving towards a HEALTHIER YOU.

the number on the scale is not an end all. it's just one of the tools that you have available to help track your progress.

as someone who has had weight-loss surgery, i became obsessed with the scale. to the point of getting on it about 10-15 time a day. SO had to hide the scale from me. he brings it out on sunday or monday and i weigh myself once a week, now.

no matter what the number is, your DH has noticed progress... good for you!!!

good for you.

My clothes are definetly fitting loser so I know I've made changes. I just have issue with always being under a certain weight so I'm thinking maybe I'll be discouraged if I get on and I'm not there yet. Right now I feel good and feel like I am making good progress.

I don't use a scale

it's not b/c I am afraid- the number doesn't mean anything to me

I go by my clothes and have for years

I am pretty muscular and the scale just doesn't match up with how I look and feel so it doesn't mean anything

clothes are a much better judge!
