Just a fresh tomato sauce - light and a little lemon-y: I saute some garlic in olive oil and then take the garlic out and add some dry white wine (Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc is good here). I don't know how much I add.. I'd say probably a good 3/4 of a cup. When the wine starts to cook down I put the garlic back in, squeeze in some lemon juice - probably about 3-4 lemons. And added some freshly chopped tomato.. maybe 2 cups or so? Cook until heated through and fragrant.. maybe 8 minutes or so? Add salt to taste, throw in some fresh basil and toss it with the pasta. Then add some good Reggiano.

it's really simple.
1 lb ground meat (I use bison) about a half of a diced onion or more to taste with a couple of diced pieces of garlic. half of a red bell pepper diced.
saute the veggies until fragrant (3-5 minutes), add in ground meat and pump up the flame while incoporating veggies, add a bit of red tomato sauce (for some kick I use goya sauce with chipotle) salt, pepper, ground cumin and either adobo or garlic powder if needed. when the meat is cooked through I add the corn (either frozen corn or fresh corn pre cooked) mix together and season to taste.
it's really just a hodgepodge. my MIL also adds small diced potatoes when she makes it which I LOVE.

no, we have them separate, but feel free to add them. it would be more like a chili then, I suppose, but certainly can't taste bad!
