Yoga studio's along Nassau/Suffolk border
DH and I are thinking of taking yoga together, but I'd prefer a smaller studio as opposed to a large class, since we are beginners. We would need a place that has evening and weekend classes.
TIA

I don't know if you saw when I responded yesterday but:
I can't say it's always going to be a small class, however, I absolutely recommend Hot Yoga Massapequa for beginners.
I have been going since February and I am no yoga rock star and totally feel comfortable and at ease.
There are also a lot of older people, and people of all shapes and sizes so no need to feel out of place.

When you are a beginner, you are going to be in the back row anyways and no one looks at you.
ETA: They have 8PM classes Mon-Thurs.
For the summer, there are 3 classes on the weekends. I believe 7AM, 10AM and 12:15PM.
In the fall the owner will probably add a late afternoon weekend class.
I have also spoken to him about making a shorter class (i.e. 60 minutes vs 90) and he said this may be an option in the future as well. If you can adjust to the heat you may find you love it in hot yoga. They also have a $20.00 for 10 days of unlimited yoga classes special. It takes a good 10 classes for you to decide if you either love or hate the hot yoga.
