You would think this would be easy to find...

Beige sheers for a 6 foot wide bay window
64" length
No pattern, but perhaps a texture like a muted silk sheen

This is proving difficult though... I was at BB&B and found this for the side window by my front door:



It's pretty much exactly what I wanted so I got it. But they don't have the same material/color in a 64" curtain for the other two windows in my living room.

I saw this on their website and it looks good but it's too long. Has anyone had curtains taken up to fit their windows?



I would assume I could bring them to my dry cleaners right? Anyone know of someplace in the Smithtown/St. James area they would recommend for this?

Those sheers are 50 inches wide. I would need at least two obviously but for a living room window, I could probably do four for a 'thicker' look right? Would you, or do you have pics of four curtains on one rod?

Lastly... My largest window is 6 feet wide. I can choose a rod that's either 48"-84" (4-7 feet) or 84"-120" (7-10 feet). If you were me, you would choose the longer one so I can make the window appear larger by having the sheers extend past the windowframe, right?

I bought some sheers that were too long but was too cheap to go to a tailor to have them altered. So I cut a bit of the length off, then used iron-on double sided fabric tape to finish them at the bottom. Looks perfect!

your local dry cleaner and hem them. or you can just let them puddled on the floor, but I think with the dogs you wouldn't want to do that. I would buy the longer rod and hang the sheers past the trim, about 12 inches past. I would do 4 for a fuller look.

Thanks ladies! I forgot about the fabric tape. I just bought a new iron too, I should consider that.

I can't puddle on the floor because I have a couch in front of one window and a bench in front of the other. That would look silly, right? Just kind of shoving the extra fabric behind furniture?

yeah I wouldn't puddle them. you would just have dog hair & dust all over them when you would pull the furniture away. Not worth it. I forgot you had the bench in front of the other window. I would try the fabric tape. Easier & a lot cheaper.

ETA: Did you look at JCPenny for the color and size?

I didn't look in JCP but I do think I'd want to see the curtains for myself. I think DH and I will go to Marburn, it's pretty convenient for us. I'm letting him pick the rods/finials as long as the color is right.

just curious - target? did you try there? they always have sheers there for 9.99 white, ivory, greens... they come in 63 inch length and 84.
