3D Cakes
Anyone who has had one made, where did you get it and how much did it run? Was it worth it? I can't believe I'm considering spending $350 on something that will be eaten in 10 minutes.

Ive had a 2 tier cake made that was fondant with designs, yes it was cool, yes it tasted great, cost me 400+ bucks and I will never waits money on food again.

i used Lady J's - it was a good price (around $100) and it was great

Thanks for the info. Did it taste good? The most important thing to me is that it tastes as good as it looks.

what are you looking for? My Sister in Law makes cakes out of her house. She's actually really good. She does showers, christening, birthdays, groom's cake... you name it. Let em know if you want her info.

Sorry i dont check this board often -- yes her cake was absolutley delish!! Ive gotten 2 cakes from her and both were soooooo good. I was actually surprised b/c when i get special cakes from the bakery or costco the cake itself stinks. Her cakes look good - but taste even better. Ive only gotten the yellow cake but its by far the best yellow cake ive ever had!
ETA - even the fondant was good - some places the fondant doesnt taste good but she uses a special one b/c it tastes better!

i got a grooms cake (Mr. Met head) for my DH at our wedding from Cakes by Mona.. it was a bit expensive (about $300 with tax and delivery) but totally worth it. It tasted better than my wedding cake (we got chocolate cake w/ vanilla butter cream)
