Huntington
We are in the process of house hunting, was hoping I could get some insight on the area, the good the bad and the ugly.
Which are the good areas of Huntington which areas should we stay away from? Any input would be great. Thank you so much!

There is no real defined area on this. There is a block thats good and the block next to it is bad.
My mom's a block away from Whitman and her technical address is Huntington Station and people always say to stay away from Huntington Station, and thats just not true. That area is called the "trees" and its a great area.
I'd also say the whole area behind the mall, Deepdale, Iceland, that area is good too. Of course, the area behind the high school is also amazing, west hills/audobon woods area.
The part by NY Ave, but towards Melville is also great, by Wolf Hill. The area by St Anthony's is also super.
The Maplewood area is really nice too.

the area around the village is nice
also anywhere around the bay is nice - halesite area
we live just outside of huntington bay
huntington bay has its own police so more taxes there plus you have to pay for private carters - my parents live within
the area around the train station and west a little bit is not nice and south on 110 through huntington station
there really are not that many bad area - it really is 110 and depot rd from a little north of the station and west - including Huntington intermediate (forgot its name now thats what it was called when i was younger)

Same here. I am S. Huntington with Huntington Station mailing address and I hate when people see that and automatically assume I live next to the school where all the shootings occurred. I live basically behind the Walt Whitman Mall.
S. Huntington is an amazing area, young families, you will find $1mm homes and $500K homes, I love the diversity.
Just do your own research and you will see what area's you like.
Would I stay away from anything around the train station & depot road, probably but once you get past that area you hit Huntington Village which is amazing as well.

I love Huntington Village, but if you have kids, I would much rather be in CSH or Harborfields. That way you can enjoy the village and great schools.
