Did anyone get custom window treatments?
I had an estimate for the new house and OMG!!!!! It was CRAZY!!!!!
It was for drapery and hardware for 5 rooms and plantation shutters for one. Almost $6,000!!!! Looks like I will be hitting up Walmart and Target and doing my own window treatments...

Yes - i got a quote from Ethan Allen for my formal living room. it was $9k and it was inexpensive fabric.
i went to The Fabric Mill, got the same style but in silk for about $4k.

I did the same thing as you, priced it out and almost fell over. I couldn' t afford that price. I went to JC penney home store for the living room in Lake Grove and did it all myself for a fraction of the cost. The kids rooms I got from pottery barn. Everything in my bedroom was from fortunoffs before they closed but got matching comforter set and drapes. I hear they are reopening on a limited basis, I hope they will have their home store again.

I looked into this when we first moved in. I ended up buying them from the store and still spent 1500 in one room (6 windows)
Curtains are so expensive and styles change, IMO it wasn't worth it.
