Priming with Delestrogen Injections?

Are these shots easy to do at home?My DH is supposed to "stab" me on my butt tonight - this will be my first intramuscular injection at home and I'm being a big chicken Chat Icon I've been doing fine so far with the subcateneous injections but from what I hear this is very different Chat Icon Is there an over the counter cream I could use to numb the injection area?: Chat Icon The nurse told be to avoid the sciatic nerve area and once the needle is in the muscle to draw in some air to see if blood is coming in Chat Icon (in case a blood vessel was puctured). If that happens stop, throw out the medication and try again on the other side Chat Icon I know I'm just one big chicken Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon but can any of you ladies tell me that it's not so bad? It's really not that bad. Just make sure your not putting your weight on the side that hes doing and massage the area well after you inject. I have never put any cream or iced the area. I just want it over and done with quick!!! Good luck!!!!

Thank God it's over!!! DH just did the shot for me. I iced the area for 20 minutes before the shot and wasn't putting any weight on the side of the injection and I didn't feel a thing! Thank you so much for you tips! Right now I'm massaging the area and I see what seems to be a little bump at the injection site Chat Icon Is that normal? Chat Icon
