has anyone had to travel with prescription needles

I was wondering what the airlines need in order for me to carry on the needles for my son's prescription.

I have a call into the airline, but any useful information would be appreciated

I always have a letter from my doctor explaining the need for the needles. Also carry a copy of the prescription and not just the needles alone.

I never put them in my suitcase, I always carry them on the plane and I never had a problem nor has anyone ever asked questions.
