capes are great, you can do a full dormer and rear dormer. if the garage is attached you can go up and over.
Capes are so easy to remodel

I don't have any pics but the house we are buying is a cape and it has that back room added on to it as well like the picture above shows. The previous owner's also went up a bit from the garage to make the upstairs bigger.
There is still plenty of room to dormer it further.

But anyone someone posted this on LIW a long time ago. This was a Levit Cape.

Take a drive around levittown on Ranch Lane, Tower Lane, Glade Lane, Castle Lane, Old Oak Lane, Water Lane, Green Lane, Grey Lane....and Im sure there are more blocks....This is the area we live in. There are some humungous houses there that started off as levitt capes and ended up Victorians, or center hall colonials. People must of dumped $200 plus into these houses. Right now they are working on one of Green Lane....It started off as a regular cape with a small patio in the front. It has an extension built on to the back....Full dormer to the front and rear of the house...and it now looks like a victorian with a front porch....Amazing......There is another house on that block that I love too....It is dark blue sided....and it is huge.....
Maybe Someday....
