Which Dyson should I get?
I'm looking at the DC28 Animal and the DC25 Animal. I have 2 dogs and all hardwood floors in my house.
What are the pros/cons of each? I know the DC28 weighs more than the DC25. What about attachments, etc.?

I have a Dyson ball. It's only 5lbs & since we have carpeted stairs it would have been a huge PITA to carry anything bigger up & down with me. If you have stairs consider the lighter animal.
Our dog doesn't shed so that wasn't a concern, however both have the spinning brush that gets anything.
Sometimes Target & some others have a sale on the Dyson. If not, I actually opened a Target credit card to get my first purchase 10% off. I never used the card again but it was well worth it!!

Are you dead set on a Dyson? I've had pets my whole life, and my while family has Kenmore cannister vaccums. They're less than half the cost and just as good, if not better.

DC 22 or 23... You don't need the ball... And the one with the Turbinehead not Motorhead...

There are quite a number of vacuums that perform consistently better than Dysons, and are half the price or less.

my parents have the Animal and hate it. They have 2 large dogs (about 65lbs each and long haired) the brush constantly gets tangled up with hair and needs to be cut off with scissors. It is terrible. Before that they had a kenmore canister vac and did not have this problem.
Also the canister is bagless on the animal so when you go to dump it the dust and hair goes flying all over the place. I much rather use a bag.
we have a kenmore canister and love it.

Thank you! Do you know which model of the Animal you have? How is it when you go back and forth between wood floors and area rugs? Any good attachments?

i have an older model the DC07 - while it's great on my tile and carpet i swear it scratched my high gloss laminte flooring - badly...when i researched online i found that a lot of people complained about their dyson ruining the hardwood with scratching...i wouldn't get another dyson

They do scratch that's why I recommend the DC22 and 23 for her.. Those to model come with rubber wheels while the other have plastic which isn't good for hard surfaces...
