If avocados are a little stringy on the inside, does that mean they aren't good?
How do you pick out a good avocado & mango?

yeah, stringy is not good.
I look for dark avocadoes that have a little give when gently squeezed. I also like then somewhat symetrical meaning not too round and not to skinny.
I usually use them in a day or so. They should be smooth and creamy and sweet.

I learn how to pick all my fruit from watching Produce Pete on News 4 on the weekends. I love that guy.
I am not kidding either... I love PeteProduce Pete.

Avocados should be just a little soft. If you can only find very firm ones you just need to let them ripen for a few days.
Mangos should also be somewhat soft. Sounds silly but I think they should even smell like mango when they are ripe.
PS- My favorite in summer is avocado, mango, and tomato salsa. Just add lime juice, olive oil, garlic, cilantro. So good!
