contractions
what do REAL contractions feel like? (not Braton Kicks)
do they feel like really bad menstral cramps that come an go?
Im getting something like that every 10 min or so and wondering if its the real deal?!

That's exactly how mine started out and they were also 10 minutes apart when I started noticing them. 2-3 hours later they were about 5 minutes apart and bad...I was then on my way to the hospital!!
So exciting...good luck; I think this might be it for you!!!

mine started out as light menstrual cramps and progressively got worse.
If they are consistantly 10 minutes apart, this is probably the beginning!!!!
My doctor told me to wait until they were 2-3 minutes apart to call, but DH couldn't wait that long - once they were at 5 for awhile he called.
My sisters OB said to call when she couldn't talk when they were happening

Mine felt like AF cramps that just got worse and worse. Are they making you stop what you are doing cause they hurt?
I was in denial the day I went into labor, started at about 2pm, My labor started as AF cramps coming every 10-15 minutes, then every 10-12, then 8-10 minutes. By 2am they were coming every 4-5 minutes.
Dawn I hope this it for you!! Keep timing them, and make note of the pain level!
 
ETS: I couldn't talk through them when they got 7-8 minutes apart

My sister was just very crampy period like the night before, they intensified over night and she went in to deliver the next am. She was crampy at like 8pm and delivered at about 2:30pm the next day.
My bff had contractions all threw her preg. The only way we could tell they weren't BH was to get her hydrated and moving. They were also irregular. Her real contractions were on the dot apart. Every 4 min.
Are they regular?

thank you girls so much for your responses. they are now 7 min apart - dr said I could wait till 5 min to go to hosp. He said sounds like I am in early labor. cant wait to join you girls on this board!! talk to you soon.]
