On to my 4th RE
Well, I had a consult with Dr. Braverman yesterday and it was interesting...
I had made my apointment with him for yesterday at the AF offices on 57th. I arrived on time only to find that he had decided not to come to the Manhattan office and nobody had called to tell me! I wasn't even on the schedule - not a great start! I did speak with the Woodbury office and they agreed to fit me in whenever I could get out there. I wasn't too impressed at that error and then had to wait an hour to see him but luckily I had taken a half day.
I was happy to hear that he is willing to try some more "unorthodox" treatments for me. He didn't order any immunology testing but I'm obviously a poor responder and have poor egg quality so there is no point. He did give me a list of all the crazy supplements which I will get today - including the maxi greens
The big difference is that he's going to introduce human growth hormone, which he says they have had a lot of success with in Colorado for poor responders. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but I'm willing to try anything. DH said he will start worrying when I get a deep voice.
So, one day at a time. I will start estrogen priming this month and see if I produce any more than one follicle this time.

Re: On to my 4th RE
I find that there is a disconnect with regular appts through AFS and the Woodbury office.
I've never seen him at AFS..I didn't even know he goes there.
When I go to AFS I have to call and make my appts..the Woodbury office does not do it.
I'm also a poor responder and he will go over and above and try just about anything to get you there. He is one of the few that will do that.
Big clinics have their protocols and do only that. Not knocking them since they work for the majority of people but for us, well we may need some unorthodox methods.

I agree, Susan. This is what I liked best about him. I asked him if there is even any point in trying IVF again and he said he will always keep trying. All the others just put me on their "magic protocol" and when that didn't work wrote me off as DE only.

I agree about the strong disconnect in communication between offices, you will need to be proactive with him regarding follow up. I would highly recommend going to Woodbury as much as you can for appointments.
I hope all the changes your making lead your to your BFP very soooooon!!!

Yep, totally agree.
And I know that I feel more handled at Cornell but I feel like I have some say in my treatment with him and that I get way more attention. I'm very proactive with their offices and try to go to Woodbury whenever possible.
I didn't think that mattered at first when I started but after being on the "protocols" of the major clinics and that didn't work, I was not given much hope and they certainly didn't take my immune issues seriously.
I'm doing more now than I ever thought I would do. But at least I know at the end of the day, I did everything I could.

If the growth hormone is Saizen, my friend used it at Colorado and said she had excellent quality embryos.
Dr. B is a very caring doctor.
Good luck!

It seems that some sort of growth hormone is on my list of meds for my IVF, I think that the pharmacist said that it starts with an Nov...(something)

I paid $500 for acupuncutre so everything is relative. Plus, it's cheaper than DE or adoption.

Re: On to my 4th RE
I was reading about this recently, Saizen (sounds like a vegetarian meat sustitute, seitan...lol). Some people swears it helped them and others say it made no difference. But, i think we're all different and if it helps then its good. If it does nothing, at least you tried it. Too bad I didn't have a chance to try this.
