Re: WW and goal weight..

Congrats on your loss! The first time I did WW it said in the booklet what my range is for my height and age. Check your book. I think the general rule is 100 lbs for 5' and then anywhere from 4-6 lbs for every inch above. So I would guess your range would be 108-112. This would also mean my range would be 15 lbs less than what my comfortable weight is, so not sure how true this would be.

Re: WW and goal weight..

I have my book here

For 5'2 it says the healthy range is 109 -137

ETA: this chart is based on height vs BMI

your BMI should be between 20 & 25

I think I knew that.

I'm a "few" lbs away from that top number. Actually I've been that top number once before for about 8 seconds.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: WW and goal weight..

thank you but I am confused, what should my goal be 109-137 is such a wide range. I just tell them say 120 and then I don't have to pay anymore when I hit that weight? right now I am 133.

you can say when you hit 120 that it is your goal weight then they put you on maintenance for 6 weeks, where you can gain or lose more than 2 lbs from 120 and then 6 weeks later (weigh ins) you are on lifetime and stop paying.

Just tell them a higher number so you don't have to pay. I told them 135 and I'm 119 now.

Yes tell them a higher number than what you want to be.

I picked the top of my range so that I knew I'd never have to pay even if I went a bit crazy for a bit.

Re: WW and goal weight..

I would tell them the highest number so that you don't have to pay. Keeping it lower then that it just a bonus for you!

What she said. It is hard to say what to pick. Sometimes if you pick the number on the high end it is hard to lose after that. I don't know why but it can be.

Another thing you might want to consider is as you get older this weight range stays the same. I would pick a number you know you can maintain easily and gives you a little bit of room for times like vacations etc. So for example if you were hoping for 120 perhaps make it 123 so that you can go up to 125 before paying giving you 5 lbs room KWIM?

Re: WW and goal weight..

ok, so I was thinking the middle of that range for me is 123 . That might be a little hard to maintain, but I will try and I was going to tell WW 130?

Does that sound good?

I think that's good. Honestly, I would probably just say 135 and then keep going - you will stop paying sooner, but can still keep losing until you reach your own personal goal.
