Anyone ever take these classes? If so, do you recommend them?

Re: Michael's Cake Decorating

I posted about this last month and decided to sign up for the basic one.

I went to the first class last week and so far love it. I learned a lot in just 2 hours and like the look of the upcoming projects. I fully intend to take the 2 more advanced classes.

I will say the supplies add up. You have to buy about $30 worth for the first class, but I spent another $30 for additional stuff the instructor recommended. I guess if you want to stick with it, then it's a good investment.

I have class tomorrow and am already excited for itChat Icon I'm taking them at the Michael's in Levittown in case that helps you.

Re: Michael's Cake Decorating

Here is information that I passed to some girls who have FM'd me-

The classes are fun, and are about 2 hours each 4 classes per course (8 hours total).
I take my classes at The Micheals in Riverhead. They have the classes at most Micheals, the times of the classes vary so it is best to check with the store that you are going to be looking into going to.

In Course 1, for classes 2,3 and 4 of you bring a home made cake with you.. Most of the decorating (besides basic icing) you will do at the class.

I kept all my receipts from Course 1 and including the Class fee, Course 1 Kit, and various items for the class (cake mix, icing supplies, and other things to help with the cake) It cost me $100.- for the 4 weeks total. I also used the 40% or 50% off coupons on almost everything.

I bought a lot of extra's, like a new cake carrier, all the icing colors, and extra couplers, icing bags, etc.. they have all been well used though.

Let me know if there is any thing else I can anwer for you, feel free to FM.
I have fiished all 4 courses with them.
