PCOS girls....acne help

What works for you (if anything)?

I tried The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil line but that didn't work and I've tried Proactiv which also didn't work AND it bleaches my pillow cases Chat Icon

Any help would be appreciated!

Re: PCOS girls....acne help

I have to say, I have not found anything that has helped Chat Icon

My skin was AMAZING on the pill.. hardly ever got a pimple!! I look back at those days and Chat Icon for not appreciating it more!!

I found the fertility drugs made it worse, and for me the first trimester was also pretty rough on my skin... Now in my second trimester my skin has finally improved a bit- So there IS hope when you do get pregnant! As far as products though, I was unfortunately never successful in finding a winning product..

Just try and use oil free stuff.. take off makeup at night.. ya know, the obvious.. Also just know if you start some kind of acne regimen, you may have to stop it once you get a BFP since lots of that stuff isn't safe for pregnancy- from what I have heard.

If you find a miracle cure please let me know!!!
I feel like since it is hormonal there is not much you can do. I had the worst acne of my life when i came off the pill. Huge massive cysts all over my cheeks and jaw line.

I went back on BC for a month before my IVF cycle & that cleared it up & it has stayed clear (i am now a minute prego after 1st successful ivf woo hoo!!)

Now i am dealing with left over red marks/scares which im hoping will fade. If anyone has any tips for that please let me know

Good Luck

After going off the Pill my acne flared up again pretty bad. I went old school on it (literally - this is what I used in High School!):

The active ingredients are alcohol and witch hazel, both of which are fine if you're ttc or pg. Oh, and I've found that it's really important to moisturize too. I went YEARS without moisturizing, figuring that I wanted my skin to be as dry as possible. Not so. My skin looks so much better when I use an oil-free moisturizer day and night.

Has the clinique worked for you? I used to use the 3 step in college and it worked for me then.

I checked out the clinique acne system but it has salicylic acid which is a no go Chat Icon

As a teenager and through college I NEVER had acne (I wasn't on BC then) and now since I came off it I swear it magically appeared overnight and won't go away!
