Spinoff to Peabody's mattress post.. How much did you spend on your mattress?
I'm happy with our mattress but DH always claims we didn't need to spend as much as we did.
We have a Tempurpedic and I believe we spent $2600 about 3 + yrs ago.

This is the one we got, and I haaaaaaaate it....I don't get hot easily and I get sooo freaking hot from this mattress I can't stand it!!

 We got our mattress when we moved in together in 2004 (so 6 years old now). It was $150 from Ikea. So while I voted, I'm thinking I wasn't your target audience

We spent around 2500 on ours and I think it was totally worth it.. the mattress we had was awful and DH was constantly complaining of his back hurting. Once we got the new mattress.. he stopped complaining

We have a king size bed, we got a Kingsdown mattress about 2 years ago, it was about 4K.....way too much money for any mattress if you ask me but DH had to have it so whatever. It's fine, nothing special.

our mattress would have been $1200 but we got dh's friend's employee discount and only paid $600
the mark-up on mattresses is incredible!

Box spring, mattress and frame was about $900 (from Sleepys).
Best. mattress. ever.
They had us lay down on a mattress and it took certain info (put the info onto a computer) and told us what mattress would be good for us. It was right, the mattress is perfect for both of us.

We spent $3000 on a Sleep Number bed a few years back. After about a year on it, we switched back to our old bed and the Sleep Number is now for the guests.
All of our guests always say how comfortable it is but I never really fell in love with it.
Big waste of money in our case.

We spent about 2K on a King-sized mattress almost six years ago.
