Sectionals from Bob's

OK, so my really crappy hand-me-down couches are driving me nuts. Especially when they are the first thing you see when you walk in our house.

We are no way ready to upgrade our living room, and with a 19-month-old also do not want to shell out thousands for new lr furniture just yet either.

I was looking at the Venus 4-piece sectional on the Bob's site for $999.00. I've been there before though and it kinda reminds me of throwaway or dorm furniture though.

Does anyone have this? Does it look nice and do you think it will hold up for a few years?

We are probably gonna go there today but I also don't want to spend the whole day going up and down Rt. 110 either. TIA!

I didn't buy from Bob's so my opinion is based purely on my feelings on their stuff from shopping around, not by living with it. But...I checked out their couches in person, I think the Venus was the one I looked at too bc it came in the moss green color I wanted and shape I needed. The fabric was very loose from the couch, it pulled away from the cushion very easily. Granted it was a floor model and got a lot of traffic but I have 3 young children so it was a deal breaker for me. Even with lots of use, it shouldn't pull away like that. And the piping on the edges looked very uneven which would bother me. Do a search though, a lot of people here have bought their stuff and someone even had that sectional but I can't recall who.

ETA: I just want to add that worse than a crappy hand me down couch is a crappy couch that you paid good money for, KWIM? It happened to me with my damn chenille couches that pilled within the first few months and pilling was not covered in the extended warranty. I cursed those couches often and researched much more this time around.

We actually decided to go with a 3-piece set from Bob's (I think it's the cleo). Sofa, loveseat and chaise.

It will meet our needs I think for the next couple of years until we decide what we want to do with our LR.

(It's long and narrow and our front door opens up into it----no foyer which we want because it's a PITA w/o).

I LOVED the sectional but we felt we'd be too limited with the way we could set it up. Thanks for the quick feedback ladies!

I think I have the venus......

it's fine for the money- I don't expect it to last forever but it looks nice

We have the venus it's ok. We expecting it to hold up for about 5-8years
