Deck on the side of the house?
does anyone have one? do you have pictures?
As part of the construction of the addition, we have to move our french doors (to the outside) from the back of the house to the side and the contractor wants to build a deck on the side so we still have outdoor access.

We have a deck on the side. I have to look for some pics. I like it there because it leaves the whole backyard for a pool, play gym for Jesse, gardening, etc. It runs the whole side of the house so you look out over the backyard from the back end of it. I'll try to find some pics.

We are just having a deck put on the side of our house now off of our kitchen.
What kind of addition are you doing? You just built your house last year I thought.

yes....we are adding on an extension for an apt so my grandma can come to live with us. It's on the back of the house and we had to rip down the deck that was there from the original build....
we have a small cement patio now on the ground floor, but this deck will be off the kitchen.

with the extension we are building on there is no room left in the back for a deck. It leaves us very little back yard but that is ok with us. we will have a small patio off the back out sliding doors from our bedroom. This will be very private. The deck will be more for when we are entertaining or BBQing.

our deck wraps around from the side to the back. We have two sliding glass doors in the great room that go out to the side & that's our lakeview, then the backdoor in the kitchen goes out to the back part of the deck & the rest of the yard.

Thank you Shana!! Your house is gorgeous too!!  Because of the super restrictive covenants, we can't build anything "visible"  I can't wait to see pictures of yours!!  I love 2nd story decks!!

We do. I'd really like to get rid of it and put down a brick patio though. Our neighbor's backyard borders on the side of our house so it looks weird. Image Attachment(s):
