I'M OVERWEIGHT!!! I'M OVERWEIGHT!!! HAPPY DAY!!!
about five minutes ago, i jumped on the scale (SO has it hidden from me and only allows me to get one once a week... as per my obsession that i wrote about)
well, i got on the scale and it says 163.6
which puts my BMI at 29.9, which means i am OVERWEIGHT and NO LONGER obese!!!!!!!!!!!
oh, happy day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Libby if anyone understands how happy you are to be overweight, its me! I remember going from "morbidly obese," to "obese," to "overweight" and then finally to "normal/average" like it was yesterday. What a high! Congratualtions on your acheivement.
Also it is important to remember that these terms are based in science and health after years of clinical research and are not just arbitrary or thrown around. You don't just look at someone and say "You are obese." It is based on a person's body mass index. For example, at 5 foot 8 and 260 pounds (which I was) I was considered "morbidly obese" and nobody believed it. Well apparently, my doctors and my insurance company did.
Again, Libby, you have made one incredibly brave choice to improve your health and quality of life. Now go make the most of it!!!!

There is nothing more gratifying that to see someone's transformation into a swan. To this day, when I come across pictures of my old self, or that pair of size 24 shorts (in which I can stand in one leg now) I cannot believe, I was who I once was. If by offering information, someone else feels what I felt, then it is worth every second of my time. Keep up the good work Libby!
