A few BBQ/ Drink Questions.
We;re having a family party - had a few questions:
1) Can you make blended drinks (margeritas, daqueries, etc.) ahead of time and refrigerate them?
2) What wine is good to make a sangria?
3) What veggies do you suggest for a veggie kabob?

Re: A few BBQ/ Drink Questions.
1) They wont be as good made ahead. Ask who wants and make up a batch.
2) Any red wine is good. It all gets blended together with the taste of the fruit anyway, so it doesnt matter so much if buy the inexpensive wine.
3) Ideas for veggie cabobs: peppers - red, green, orange pearl onions (the tiny round ones) mushrooms red onion chunks zucchini or yellow squash cherry tomatoes potatoes, in a large dice

Re: A few BBQ/ Drink Questions.
if you do make ahead, i would put it in the FREEZER. the alch content should keep it from freezing too quickly, but it won't last hours. those are drinks that really need to be made as you drink.
a rocks margie you can make ahead without a problem.
I like to use Concha y Toro reds for my red sangria. I like to use a Sav Blanc for my white (barefood is good and cheap)
for kebobs, I like mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, zucchini, even sliced ears of corn. anything that can b e grilled and threaded!
