i've become obsessed
... with the numbers on the scale. i get on the scale about 10/day on the weekends and about 5/day during the week.
i ask SO to throw the scale away
last night, he took the batteries out of it and said he would hide it from me.
as i was getting dressed, this morning, i asked him where he put the betteries. he called me a crack head
now, i'm sitting at work going nuts wondering if just maybe i've lost a fraction of a pound since the last time i was standing on that stupid thing
i have to keep reminding myself of what my dr said at my last post op visit: that i'm no longer in danger of any of the health risks involved with weight and that he would be ok if i didn't drop another pound.

Re: i've become obsessed
With daily fluctuations in weight it is SO hard to trust what you see every day, or even throughout the day. I would first try to JUST weigh yourself every day in the morning before you eat or drink. Then you know once you have breakfast, you can't weigh yourself anymore. Once you eat, you'll weigh more and it won't be an accurate weight. From there, you can try once a week, just so you keep yourself in check.
Are you trying to lose more weight, or maintain?

Re: i've become obsessed
I know how you feel. I too am obsessed with the scale and have made a promise to not weigh myself for an entire week. It is REALLY difficult for me too but you have to remember that weighing yourself and being too concentrated on the numbers is SO unhealthy. I try ( and try is the key word here) to focus on how I feel, how my close fit and look and not the number when I am trying to lose weight. Hang in there and try to go cold turkey for a while!

i'm still trying to lose.
i need to drop another 10lbs by my surgery anniversary, which is in november... which should be relatively easy, but with the addition of the extra protein the dr said i need (my bloodwork results made him feel this way), i've been losing VERY SLOWLY.
in the last two months, i've lost only about 6lbs... i know that my body is getting to a place it feels comfortable and that i would slow down. my head understands this, but i keep freaking out when i don't see the numbers move the way they used to.

After awhile, you start to plateau.
I wouldn't worry about the scale so much, but maybe tighten up the eating a bit more, and increase the workouts.
